Guy brings deep level expertise in the delivery of complex corporate transactions involving multiple jurisdictions.
With over two decades of M&A experience coupled with financial services and consulting experience across Southern, East and West Africa, the Middle East and Australia, Guy brings deep commercial skills to deliver value for clients in their personal, business and family investment domains. Skilled in finance, legal and corporate governance, Guy is also able to deliver transactions on time, within budget and in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Guy’s transaction expertise includes buy and sell-side mandates. He has worked across Africa, including accountability for multinational transactions valued between R30 million and R1 billion (US $1,5m and US $60m). A detailed list of transactions is available subject to NDA.
Guy started his career at KPMG where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant. After three years in Audit, he joined the Corporate Finance team at Ernst & Young (EY) as a Manager whereafter he helped establish Dubai World Africa, a global Direct Foreign Investment (DFI) fund. Guy set up an international business on behalf of the Altron Electronics Corporation and led the development of an Africa-wide expansion strategy across 15 countries which included acquisitions. Recently Guy was appointed as Chief Financial Officer of a financial services conglomerate based in South Africa involved in private equity and venture capital fund raising.
Guy currently provides corporate finance, transaction support and investment banking services to clients in Southern Africa. Work includes implementing improvements to enhance returns to shareholders which may include divestitures or acquisitions, restructuring and fund raising where required. Guy works with a team of fellow professionals across Southern Africa including investment banks and private equity funds to provide a complete transaction support solution (if required).
